Two Months

Yesterday the boys turned two months old, and we have had some great progress since our last post. Both Teague and Finn are now off oxygen and are "ad lib" with bottle feedings, no longer needing their feeding tubes. They're both over six pounds, gaining weight and maintaining their temperatures well. They had their hearing tests yesterday and no issues were found -- and today they have an eye exam.
And two nights ago both of them successfully passed their "car seat test" -- which is when they must sit in their car seat for two hours without having any Brady's or significant oxygen denaturation. Alina and I just stared at their monitors for both tests, riding the emotional roller coaster that aligned with their heart rate patterns and oxygen saturation levels. We were elated when they finished the tests with no problems!
Unfortunately, Teague had a Brady yesterday while I held him after his feeding, and Finn is in the middle of another round of EPO shots, so there are still some issues they're dealing with. But the doctors say that they are confident that we will be able to take the boys home within two weeks, and even have said that there is a chance that they could come home within a week.
It's hard not to get our hopes up. They're sky high. Stratosphere high. Thermosphere high.
Fervent prayer high.
