I'm off the feeding tube!

Well, not really. It's nice to laugh a bit with mommy and daddy and the nurses, so today I decided it would be fun to spit out my feeding tube while daddy was changing my diaper. He was supposed to be watching me closely to make sure it didn't happen but daddy didn't know how fast I was at getting that thing out. It's inserted 16 cm directly into my tum-tum and I was able to tongue that sucker out in two seconds flat. It was funny watching daddy's face as he tried to figure out what he should do. It felt great to be able to close my mouth completely and mommy said that I looked so cute and proud of myself. But I was only free of my feeding tube for a couple minutes before my nurse came to give me a new one.

Daddy asked when I might be able to get off the feeding tube and be able to drink milk from a bottle. She said that it would probably be around the 35-week mark, which isn't until September 20. That's a major bummer to me and mommy, but I know I can get through this -- because daddy told me I can. After the nurse inserted the new feed tube I tried my best to give mommy and daddy a pathetic sad face so they would feel sorry for me and take the tube back out -- it worked on mommy but daddy knew what I was up to. He knows I'm a strong boy and that the feeding tube isn't that bad for me. Mommy whispered to me that I was a very cute boy, even with all the tubes.
