I have a friend!

My aunt Tina came to visit me the other day. She gave me a present before I was even born -- a giant red octopus! Well, he's giant to me. He keeps me company when mommy and daddy are away. I love to pull the wires and tubes out of my mouth and off of my body, which seems to really make my nurses happy. But daddy says that instead of pulling on those wires and tubes I'm supposed to pull on the octopus's arms. My octopus is red and Finn's is white. Mommy says that is because daddy likes the Detroit Red Wings and those are their colors. Daddy told me that Red Wing fans throw octopuses on the hockey rink, which sounds pretty strange to me.

I still have Brady's and oxygen saturation dips every once in a while, so the doctors are keeping me at 3 liters per minute of supplemental air for now. But I'm now past my original birth weight! I started out a 2 lbs 12 oz and dropped to close to 2 lbs before I started gaining weight. Now I'm almost 3 lbs and the nurses say that I am just about ready to move out of the "micro preemie" diapers into the regular "preemie" ones! My daddy loves changing my diapers, which sounds odd -- but I know that it's because he just wants to do something -- anything -- to help me. Because he loves me so much!
